How to stay Healthy while Fasting during Ramadan

The holy month of ramadan has begun and millions of Mulims throughout the world are observing fasts for Ramadan. Fasting has many health benefits, but it can also have negative health effects if not taken proper care.

Here are some tips to stay healthy during Ramadan fasting



Include Fiber and protein in Suhoor: Suhoor, which is the early morning meal, must be saturated with enough protein (eggs, cheese, yogurt, nuts) and fiber (fruit, vegetables, whole grains) to stay saturated for the whole day

Avoid overeating: Do not overeat in any case as it might cause negative effect on your health. Here you can find some tips on how to avoid over-eating during Ramadan

Eat almonds and dates and other light food: To avoid any negative impact of Ramadan fasting on your health, take as much light but healthy food as possible. Dry fruits including dates and almonds are better alternatives for calorie-rich pastries like baklava or halva.

Stay Hydrated: In order to stay hydrated throughout the day, you body must be fed enough fiber so eat fruits in the morning diet. Avoid Sun as much as you can and stay in cool places.

Take advice of a specialist: Observe fasting only if your body allows you to do so. Take the advice of a doctor or health specialist for the proper diet plan during fasting period.
